Child Safety Standards

EnKounters is a platform built for college students, alumni mentors, and university professors. We are deeply committed to protecting minors from exploitation, abuse, and harmful content. This page describes our standards and practices against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).

Age Requirements

EnKounters is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. Users under 18 are not permitted to create accounts or use the platform. We enforce this through:

Zero-Tolerance Policy Against CSAE

EnKounters maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against all forms of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), including:

Violations result in immediate permanent account termination and are reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement, in accordance with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.

Content Moderation

We use a layered approach to content moderation to detect and remove harmful material as quickly as possible:

All reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

In-App Reporting

Every screen in EnKounters includes a Report function accessible directly within the app. Users can also report concerns outside the app by emailing safety@enkounters.com with the subject line "Child Safety Report."

CSAM Reporting Obligations

EnKounters reports apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. We cooperate fully with all law enforcement investigations related to child safety.
