On EnKounters, your real identity — your name, photo, employer, and institution — is never visible to a match until you both choose to reveal it. This isn't just a feature; it's our core safety architecture. By removing the pressure of identity upfront, we reduce bias, status-based intimidation, and the risks that come with sharing personal details too soon.
You are always in control of when and whether you reveal who you are.
We combine automated tools and human review to monitor the EnKounters community. Our moderation team reviews flagged content, accounts, and behavior promptly. Patterns of harmful conduct result in suspension or permanent removal — regardless of how long someone has been on the platform.
Anonymity does not mean impunity. Every account is tied to a verified identity that our team can act on when necessary.

For serious concerns or if you're unable to use the in-app tool, email us directly at safety@enkounters.com. Include your account details and a description of what happened.
Our team reviews every report. You'll receive a confirmation that your report was received, and we'll take appropriate action based on our investigation.
When a report is submitted, our safety team reviews the flagged conversation, account history, and any supporting information. Depending on the severity:
Minor violations may result in a formal warning. Repeated or serious violations lead to account suspension. The most severe violations result in permanent removal and, where legally required, escalation to appropriate authorities.
We do not share the outcome of investigations with the reporting party, but every report is taken seriously and reviewed by a human being.
The following behaviors will result in immediate removal from EnKounters with no warning:
